Showcase Section

1. What does the expert and user's rating on the stars mean?

User's rating are the votes casted by any member, where expert rating are the votes casted by members that has at least 1 entry in the CoolWebAwards.com showcase that has 3.5 or more stars voted for by other experts

2. How does the voting system work?

When you cast a vote, your CWA reputation will be taken in account. Let's say you have 5 CWA reputation points and cast a vote, the vote will count 5 times more than a member with 1 CWA reputation point

3. CWA reputation and Status

CWA reputation is points awarded to a member for participating in various sections of the website. You can earn points for entries accepted in the showcase with more than 3.5 stars voted for by experts, posting on the forum and voting for entries. Your status will also change from User to Expert to Elite member as you earn reputation. Currently you can earn a maximum of 26 CWA reputation points.

3.a. User Status

After you signup as a new member, you'll have the User status

3.b. Expert Status

Get Expert status when you have at least 1 entry in the showcase with 3.5 stars or more voted for by other Experts. Experts will be able to vote as an expert, and also browse and do jobs listed on the freelance page

3.c. Elite Status

Get Elite status when you earn 20 or more CWA reputation points. Elite members are very rare. Elite members will exclusively be able to browse jobs listed for Elite members only in addition to the Expert job listings. Your profile will be listed on the Elite Members page. Elite members will be able to vote as an expert.

4. I can't login with my old username and password

That is because the forum and showcase database are merged. Register a new account, then click on the "Merge Account" button in the "Manage Entries" section. Now, enter the old username and password you used to login to the site before the upgrade, after which all your previous entries will be transferred to your new account.

5. What are “Archived” entries?

Archived entries are entries accepted to the showcase before the upgrade. We are awaiting members to merge their old account to their new one and then add more info on their entry after which the status will change

6. Who can review entries and how does it work?

Only Expert and Elite members can review entries. Review works the same as when voting for websites. After an entry receives enough votes from the experts and got an average of 3.5 stars or more, the entry will be included in the showcase.
